The Estate is set in the Golden Valley, Herefordshire. It enjoys views of the Black Mountains and on a clear day the Malvern Hills. It comprises 176 acres of managed forest and 91 acres of let pastureland (total 267 acres). It is attractive, ecologically important and offers limited public recreation opportunities (chiefly walking on public footpaths).
The Estate comprises a steep north facing bank rising from 130 to 230 metres above sea level, with a plateau to the south. It contributes significantly to the local landscape.
Solid geology comprises Old Red Sandstone. Drift geology comprises a reddish silty shale soil, which is well drained but which seasonally water logs. It erodes easily and when wet it can be very slippery.
